Huron Women's Shelter - Second Stage Housing and Counselling Services

We believe that women, given emotional support and much needed resources, can be empowered to recognize their own strengths and choose a safe and fulfilling future.

Huron Women’s Shelter is proud to present a new Sexual Assault Prevention booklet for the youth in Huron County.

The agency received one-time funding from the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) to prepare and produce a booklet that is full of useful information about healthy dating relationships, what to look for in a partner and where to turn for help if you need it. We know that one in four girls will be sexually assaulted before the age of 16 and one in 7 boys. Knowing where to turn for help is critical. Huron Women’s Shelter wants to provide help for victims of sexual assault, but more than providing help we want to prevent all forms of abuse from happening. Providing youth with good information about healthy relationships, we trust we will prevent abuse in dating relationships.

Group Program for Women who have experienced Sexual Abuse in childhood or adolescence

This group offers members an oppurtunity to meet other survivors, to share ideas and learn new skills for healing and self-care

This program is offered twice a year in the spring and fall

The group meets once a week for 12weeks

There is no registration fee
